The exam consists of a written (Jan/May/Sept) and clinical (March/Nov) section.

Up to date details about the dates of examination, fees and application forms can all be found on the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health’s website.

Closing date for entry is approximately 2 months before-don’t miss it!(and from experience aim to have your form recieved in the first couple of days as the clinical exams fill up fast and are only twice a year).

Reading List

There are numerous books for the DCH to be found but many are quite dated so I have only listed recent titles. Don't forget to also use the information on the RCPCH website as there is a lot of information there particularly about the structure of the clinical exam and child develpment.
