Study Leave

 

Study leave should:

  • Enhance clinical education and training
  • Be planned in advance as an integral part of education and training.
  • Provide education and training not easily acquired in the clinical setting or locality.

In house lectures/meetings provided by the department are expected to be attended by trainees.

Study leave allowance:

Should NOT include:

  • Attendance at half day release for GP VTS SHOs on Thursday p.m.
  • Leave to sit examinations approved by educational supervisor

Should include:

  • Attendance at half day release for GP VTS Registrars on Thursday pm
  • Bleep free teaching continuous half day within speciality.
  • Attendance at half day or full day courses for V.T.S., G.P., and S.H.Os.
  • Time for private study leave to prepare for an examination or write up research

N.B. Travel expenses/subsistence for examinations can be funded from the Study Leave budget
